Jerry Boster

Kaneohe, Hawaii

We are saddened to share that Jerry Boster passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023

Though you are no longer with us, Jerry, you will never be forgotten. Thank you for being a friend and for the legacy you left to the Parkinson’s community.

If you’d like to learn more about Jerry’s work and help maintain his legacy, visit the Hawai’i Parkinson Association.

I have been the volunteer president of the Hawaii Parkinson Association since April 2017. Diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s in late 2013 at age 47, I work to help others with Parkinson’s live the best life possible, educate anyone who will listen, and assist in Parkinson’s research where possible. I am a passionate local- and national-level Parkinson’s advocate and was invited to become a member of the Unified Parkinson’s Advocacy Council and the Movement Disorder Policy Coalition.

Retiring as a Commander in the US Navy in 2013 following a 29-year career as a Surface Warfare Officer, I now work as the strategic assessor for US Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii. Impressed with the work on behalf of the Parkinson’s community and the dedication of Kevin Kwok, Davis Phinney Foundation board member, I was inspired to apply to be an Ambassador. The Every Victory Counts® manual also played a big part in my interest.

Living well means living a life as close to normal as possible. This includes traveling, enjoying hobbies, working in my chosen profession, and living a full life with family and friends.
