Tim Hague, Sr.
Tim was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2011 at the age of 46. He is the Founder and Executive Director of U-Turn Parkinson’s, a registered Canadian charity whose mission is to help people living with Parkinson’s live their best through the practice of wellness. Tim’s previous career as a registered nurse (retired) spanned over 20 years and encompassed both work at the bedside and in management. Tim’s diagnosis of young onset Parkinson’s led to him and his son, Tim Jr., to be selected to participate in the inaugural season of The Amazing Race Canada. In spite of the difficulties of Parkinson’s, “The Tims” went on to win season one of the race.
Tim maintains a busy speaking schedule traveling across North America encouraging Parkinson’s groups as well as a corporate motivational keynote speaker. Tim has had the opportunity to speak for TEDx and has spoken at a number of The Victory Summit® events. He is a keen supporter of the Davis Phinney Foundation’s work to “live well today.” Tim’s wife, Sheryl, is also featured in the Every Victory Counts manual.
