Parkinson’s Advocacy Day: Write Your Letters!

Parkinson's advocates gather for the policy forum at the White House

For the past couple of days, hundreds of people with Parkinson’s and their care partners have been gathering on Capitol Hill to listen to panel discussions and learn how to talk to lawmakers.

Here are a few shots of our Davis Phinney Foundation Ambassadors in action.

And now, today is the day.

It’s the day to make our voices heard as we advocate for federal funding for Parkinson’s research and policies that support comprehensive care. By sharing your needs and priorities with elected officials today, you can play a critical role in shaping their decision-making in the future.

And the Michael J. Fox Foundation is making it as easy as possible for you to do so. Just click here and you’ll be taken to a page that

  1. helps you locate your elected officials and
  2. offers you a template email you can tweak and send to your legislators

Think of the collective good we’ll be doing for people with Parkinson’s with each letter we send.

And, if you're looking for an extra boost of motivation, watch this talk that Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) gave at the Policy Forum yesterday.

Happy Parkinson’s Advocacy Day!
