Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center Parkinson’s Outdoor Active Retreats Planned

Greetings from the still-snowy Rockies!

Summit County is in the sweet spot these days.  Rivers are flowing, there is still some skiable snow to be found in the backcountry, and the biking and hiking trails are starting to dry out…And the weather is superb!
The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) has rolled right into summer as busy as ever. We have already delivered 10 courses since the beginning of May and the busiest part of the season is yet to come.

We have two upcoming Outdoor Active Retreats for people living with Parkinson’s.

Scholarships are always available. We want people to be able to participate and experience the outdoors! Contact us for additional information.

Also of note: Ryan Waters, a big BOEC supporter and volunteer, is speaking August 21st in Breckenridge about his recent successful unsupported North Pole expedition with Eric Larsen (also a BOEC supporter whose father has PD).  This was the first successful full North Pole expedition since 2010 and possibly the last full  North Pole expedition ever due to the changing conditions in the Arctic. All proceeds from this speaking event will benefit the BOEC programs and some of the proceeds will go towards scholarships for PD program participants.  Come join us if you can. Stay tuned for details.
