Victory Crew® members around the country have created events to raise funds and awareness for the Davis Phinney Foundation.
Some people organize athletic events, such as group walks, bike rides, runs, golf tournaments or a group mountain climbs. Others host parties, bowl-a-thons, art auctions, neighborhood pancake breakfasts – even a kids’ lemonade stand or school Popsicle sale – the possibilities are as limitless as your imagination.
Whatever you decide you want to do, you won’t be on your own. As a member of the Victory Crew, you’ll have access to a variety of resources to help make your fundraising event fun and successful.
If your event does not require official registration, like a bake sale or a wine and cheese party, you’re ready to set up your personal fundraising page. There, you can add pictures, video and text to share your story with your network via email, letter writing and social networking.
Other events, such as a bike ride or a bowl-a-thon, do require registration and usually include a registration fee to cover the costs of putting on the event (hiring ride support, renting the bowling alley, etc.). If you’re planning to charge a fee for registrants to participate in your event, follow these steps:
- Submit your event idea to the Davis Phinney Foundation. We’ll review your event to ensure it’s a good fit for the Foundation, and we’ll soon be in touch to help you make it happen!
- Once your event is approved, you’ll get access to exclusive resources to help in the planning process, from a sample event budget organizer to guidance on how to create a professional online presence for your event.
- We will also help you create a professional event registration website that will allow you to collect fees for and track registration.
- Finally, we will make a fundraising web page for your event so event participants can spread the word to their family and friends to raise funds and awareness.
Don’t worry, we’re here to help you every step of the way. You can reach us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 303-733-3340.
