June 9-15, the Victory Crew conquered the mountains at the 2012 Denver Post Ride the Rockies, an epic bucket list of a bike ride covering 450 miles and 25,000 vertical feet. The team raised more than $36,500 to fund Parkinson’s programs. Teammates Steve Hovey and Doug Bahniuk both have Parkinson’s and were the top fundraisers for the event. The two embodied the Foundation’s mission of living well today and not letting Parkinson’s stop them. Steve was interviewed for the Carbondale Post Independent and also shared a moving personal account of his week-long experience. Check out the event wrap-up and photo gallery. The team’s success owes much to all the honorary members and support crew who kept spirits high and bikes in working order. Volunteering for us is fun and rewarding, and there are lots of opportunities to help out in our office, on the road, or at events.
