Colorado Research Study: Self-Efficacy Learning Program for Recently Diagnosed Parkinson’s Patients

Study Description: The purpose of the study is to determine whether the teaching of self-efficacy skills to patients recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in monthly Support Group meetings over a 12-month period will result in better physical and emotional functioning, better quality of life, and more self-efficacy after 12 months.

Seeking patients with Parkinson’s disease who are:

  1. Diagnosed with PD within 3 years
  2. Minimum age: 30
  3. Maximum age: 80
  4. Have not previously participated in a Parkinson’s support group on a regular basis
